Just

De waiting time is: 58 weeks

Due to the budget agreements with some health insurers, longer waiting times might be applicable than the standard waiting time per location. The amount of patients that can receive treatment at ADHDcentraal per year varies per health insurer. Naturally we strive to make suitable agreements with every health insurer, but in our experience budget agreements can result in not every patient being treated in the foreseeable future. This means that the waiting time differs per health insurer.

Waiting list mediation

If you find the waiting time for diagnostics too long, you can always contact you health insurer and request waiting list mediation. In principle, your health insurer must ensure that you receive an intake interview within 4 weeks of the first contact with a healthcare provider, and that you can start treatment within 10 weeks after the intake. These are the maximum acceptable waiting times which are agreed on by healthcare provides and health insurers (the Treeknorm).

It is possible to choose a location with shorter waiting times under certain conditions than the location closest to you. This possibilty will be discussed with you and is for both the diagnosis day as the treatment. You have to physically come to the chosen location once for the diagnosis day. Thereafter the treatment can be continued online via video calls to save you travel time and travel expenses. Please note: choosing another location is only possible if you are not insured with one of the health insurers for which a longer waiting time applies because of budget agreements. These longer waiting times apply to all locations.

Can I - if I have to wait longer due to the limited budget of my health insurer - shorten the waiting time by paying for treatment myself?

Unfortunately this is not possible. The contractual agreements with the health insurers do not allow this.

Can I also get treatment at a location further away from me?

I find my waiting time unacceptable. Can I file a complaint?

We understand that it is very unfortunate that the waiting times for certain health insurers are long. We advise you to contact your health insurer to discuss the possibility of waiting time mediation.
If you are not satisfied after this, you can file a complaint with your health insurer. In addition, at SKGZ you can find more information about your possibilites and if desired file a complaint regarding the waiting time.

Can you guarantee the stated waiting times?

Unfortunately we cannot guarantee this and this is an estimate. This is due to multiple factors:

  • We have no insight into any contract extensions from various health insurers nor any contract changes before 2024.
  • We do not know how many of the people currently on the waiting list are in need of our care in the future, as they might have found care elsewhere through waiting list mediation.
  • As of January first, everyone has the option to change health insurer, which means that the waiting lists may change per health insurer.
