In juvenile law it is determined that mental healthcare for young adults is organised through municipalities, not through your health insurer (as is the case for adults). Municipalities enter into a contract with health insurers to provide reimbursed care within the municipality. Currently ADHDcentraal has a contract with the region West-Brabant-west (municipalities: Bergen op Zoom, Etten-Leur, Halderberge, Moerdijk, Roosendaal, Rucphen, Steenbergen, Woensdrecht, Zundert).

What do we offer?

The diagnostics take place in a single day and consist of the following elements:

• Diagnostic interviews with parents and young adult with various healthcare professionals
• Computerized test (QbTest)
• The effect of a single dose of medication is measured. The effect of the medication is then objectively measured by taking a second QbTest.
• Consultation with parents and young adult where findings are shared and the follow-up process is discussed.

If the diagnosis of ADHD is established, the practitioner will discuss the preferred treatment at the end of the diagnosis day with the parents and the young adult. Within this treatment a psycho-education is given (explanation about ADHD), you can opt for medication, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) can be offered (or a combination of medication and CBT).

Where?

For now the diagnostics take place at a central place in the Netherland, at our location in Breda. The diagnostics will be completed in 1 day. The treatment can then be followed online – i.e. from home – by video calling the practitioner.

For who?

The program is designed specifically for 16 and 17 year olds with ADHD symptoms. Also, parents will be involved in the diagnostics and treatment. If desired, school could also be involved. We ask you for a referral from the GP.

Costs?

The costs will be reimbursed from the youth care budget of the municipalities. Please note: Currently ADHDcentral only has a contract with the region West-Brabant-west (municipalities: Bergen op Zoom, Etten-Leur, Halderberge, Moerdijk, Roosendaal, Rucphen, Steenbergen, Woensdrecht, Zundert). How long?

A procedure with us starts with a diagnosis day. These are always in Breda and take approximately a whole day. If the diagnosis of ADHD is given, you can opt to start the treatment procedure immediately. The treatment can be done both in person in Breda or online (through video calling). The average time from diagnosis to the end of treatment is approximately 12 weeks.
